“Your story is unique and so so different. And not worthy of comparison.”
-Arriane Serafico
(The beginning is always the hardest. Especially if you’re not really into the storytelling thing. And you struggle with words to express your thoughts. But I’ve been itching to give it a try. So. Okay. Here it goes.)
There are surprising joy and engagement which my son Inigo and I feel when we make small projects at home. Our after school crafting would always have something to do with papers. Thanks to Instagram and Pinterest. The crafting inspo has become endless.
The next photo was one of our few “art collaborations” and is really so special to me.
It was one afternoon in May 2016 when our creativity kicked in as we grabbed brushes and watercolor, unrolled the Mala paper and started our fun doodling and scribbling. I wrote some of my favorite quotes I learned from Instagram that inspired and motivated me to be the best person that I could be.
He drew. I lettered. We created the arts of our hearts.
I fell in love with how “our masterpiece” turned out. It made me crave to create more.
In between the said project and my creative me-time, I would sometimes incorporate my hand lettering to little ideas that I supposed would make others feel loved and special.
I (courageously) posted every creation of mine in social media. To my delight, I received encouragement from family and friends, telling me to never stop and that they were inspired as well by “my craft” and the things that I’ve been doing. I thought to myself, “Gee. Perhaps I just passed the inspiration on.” True enough, creativity and good energy are contagious.Looking back, I realized how God has been leading me to a future He has blessed me to be in. A place where passion and purpose meet.
The year 2016 was all about discovering my core gift for a purpose.
“I know the plans I have for you,” declares The Lord. (Jeremiah 29:11)
Yes Oh Lord. Please help me dream Your DREAMS.
